What Man Utd Fans Are Saying About Ander Herrera After PSG Defeat

Man Utd suffered defeat at the hands of PSG as their chances of finishing as group winners dwindles, but the focus of the fans did not stay on the loss for too long as fingers were pointed at Ander Herrera.

The Ligue 1 leaders managed to steal all 3 points at Old Trafford thanks to two second-half goals and a brilliant performance from Neymar Jr. PSG were in a serious threat of dropping down to the Europa League if they were to lose last night, but a win has ensured they can still contest for the top position in their Champions League group.

Meanwhile, the ex-Red Devil was at the epicentre of the drama that – in a way – ensured his former side’s defeat. Herrera went down as a result of a challenge from Fred for which the latter was shown his second yellow card of the day.

Although replays showed that the Brazilian had actually won the ball, a small contact on the Spanish midfielder allowed him to – let’s just say – make the most of it.

Now that Herrera’s usual antics on the pitch has turned against Man Utd, fans have been given a taste of the same annoyance that was suffered by other teams and their fans during his time in England.

Although the decision to show the Brazilian midfielder a red card was harsh, it only raises the age of discourse of consistency of refereeing in Europe.

One could argue the 27-year-old should have been sent off much earlier in the game when he head-butted Leandro Paredes, but clearly, two wrongs don’t make a right.
