Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has been cautious with Facundo Pellistri and Amad Diallo, refusing to throw the youngsters into senior football.

Despite the lack of a natural option at right-flank, Solskjaer gave Pellistri time to settle in England, and the Uruguayan is expected to move on loan elsewhere before he gets his Man United debut.

While Diallo, who arrived from Atalanta this month, is slowly being integrated into the first-team. For now the 18-year-old has only trained with the first-team.

There is no timeline for when the Ivorian winger will play his first match with the seniors, but he was awarded with his first appearance in a Red shirt for the Under-23s against Liverpool.

Diallo’s intensity from the get go on Saturday afternoon led to his first goal for Man United’s U23 side. He pressed Liverpool centre-back Billy Koumetio to win the ball before putting the away side ahead in the 13th minute.

His second goal signalled the confidence the Atalanta academy graduate boasts, as he fooled the Liverpool goalkeeper with a Panenka penalty.

United fans certainly enjoyed the Diallo ‘show’. But with all the attention his debut performance has attracted on social media, the pressure will only grow on the manager to hand the youngster his first-team start soon.
