Cristiano Ronaldo has been named Premier League Player of the Month for September.

The Portuguese made his second debut for Manchester United after the international break in September, announcing his return in style with a brace against Newcastle United. He further added another goal, equalising against West Ham United at the London Stadium.

With three goals in as many league appearances over the course of the month, the 36-year-old outperformed the likes of Mo Salah and Allan Saint-Maximin to win the accolade.

Many believed the former Juventus man might struggle to match the intensity of English football at this juncture of his career. But with this award in his first month back in the Premier League, Ronaldo has silenced his doubters yet again. He was also awarded United’s Player of the Month award for September for his five goals in all competitions.

After claiming the fifth PL POTM award of his career, Ronaldo thanked his new teammates for their support.

While Ronaldo will rejoice such individual honors, he has returned to Old Trafford to win major titles, including the Champions League.

However, the way United have performed in the first week of October, it’s clear Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and his star-studded squad have a lot to do to end up with a major trophy.
