Manchester United have joined the race to sign Colombian striker Jhon Duran.

Erik ten Hag’s side have dominated Newcastle United, Tottenham Hotspur, and Chelsea on the bounce, but have been guilty of missing a number of chances, resulting in just one win in the last three Premier League games.

The absence of strikers Anthony Martial and Cristiano Ronaldo for different reasons hasn’t helped, with the Dutchman depending on left-winger Marcus Rashford to lead the side’s attack from the middle.

The English forward has been a crucial figure in United’s build-up play but has been underwhelming with his finishing.

It appears United are looking to address the issue by bringing in a new striker.

According to The Sun, Ten Hag’s associates have been in contact for Duran, and are keen to sign the £10million-rated star from MLS outfit Chicago Fire.

The 18-year-old striker, who scored eight goals during the 2022 season for the Chicago-based side, has attracted a number of European sides, including Liverpool.

It has been claimed that his agent and family members travelled to England recently and have been speaking to interested teams.

Duran is a promising striker and has the potential to be a smart signing for United, but he’s unlikely to solve their goal-scoring issues from the get-go.
