Old Trafford’s much-treasured Anthony Martial song may be coming to an end. The Frenchman who was once a much-anticipated teenage signing from Monaco simply hasn’t lived up to the bill.

Injuries have plagued him on more than one occasion this season alone and the goals are simply not coming. While it is certain that Martial has had a tough time, what with the various gaffers keen on experimenting him all along the frontline, in Erik ten Hag many saw a potential supporter.

However, recent reports have indicated that his shocking Premier League antic against Bournemouth has not gone down well.

Manchester United had an interesting away fixture to Bournemouth, to say the least. Casemiro’s picturesque goal did the trick for the Red Devils in the end, at least in terms of points acquired, but for much of the match the hunt for goals was on.

And as has often been the case in the recent past, Martial’s starting spot did not pay much dividend. As such, when Ten Hag did the sensible thing and subbed off the Frenchman for Wout Weghorst, many in the crowds were surprised to see Martial making a face.

He didn’t stop there either, as enough people saw him storm straight into the tunnel, with reports albeit suggesting that he did return later on in the game, which ended 1-0.

Now, suggestions are up in the air that this latest antic has only added to the sentiment that Martial should be sold this summer as funds are being gathered for a world-class striker, amidst other vital signings.

In fact, if the warning signs are any indication, Martial may not be the only player who will probably be shown the exit door in the coming weeks.
