Zinedine Zidane might prefer Manchester United to Bayern Munich if a report is to be believed.

Erik ten Hag looks increasingly unlikely to be retained as Man United’s manager for next season.

While a strong and fair argument can be made that the Dutch gaffer deserves at least one season under a proper set up before he is judged on an exit, the current tactical decisions don’t point that way.

Perhaps the end of the season will be a real test, but recent results paint a somber picture. Now, matters may become even more complicated if a high-profile name is thrown into the mix.

Zinedine Zidane prefers Man United to Bayern Munich

According to L’Equipe, it is a snag in the Zidane to Bayern Munich saga which might translate into hope for the Red Devils. Accordingly, it is understood that the Bundesliga giants who lost out on winning the title this campaign are targeting the former Real Madrid man for a bumper deal.

However, Zidane apparently has some reservations about the language and lifestyle of Germany which might prove to be a dealbreaker.

Incidentally, it is this aspect that appears to have some hope for United as the report suggests that the French legend would be open to working at the Theatre of Dreams.

This will certainly be a major coup if engineered well as Zidane has a proven knack for exciting football and attracting silverware. However, if the gaffer does put pen to paper it is almost assured that no European football could come his way at least for the next season.

In contrast, Munich could even begin the next campaign as reigning champions if Harry Kane and company play it smart over the next month or so.
