Manchester United are hoping to make two new additions to their coaching staff ahead of next season, according to reports.
Multiple sources have already confirmed the Red Devils’ interest in reuniting with legendary striker Ruud van Nistelrooy. While initially expected to become Burnley’s next head coach, he now appears to be on the verge of joining Erik ten Hag’s coaching staff at Old Trafford.
However, he may not be the only Dutchman the club hierarchy brings in this summer.
According to Fabrizio Romano, the Mancunian outfit is also looking to add Go Ahead Eagles manager Rene Hake to the new coaching staff for next season.

As per Fabrizio Romano, Manchester United are “confident and ready” to get new contracts signed for Erik ten Hag as well as his two new staff members, Van Nistelrooy and Hake.
They feel assured about luring Hake away from Go Ahead Eagles, even if that means the 52-year-old will have to sacrifice his head coach role at the Eredivisie club.
The tactician recently led the Eagles to an impressive ninth place finish in the 2023/24 campaign, which was comfortably their best season in well over a decade.
Meanwhile, Hake and Ten Hag aren’t just familiar to each other; they go way back! They started their coaching journeys together at FC Twente. In fact, Ten Hag even played a vital role in Hake’s appointment as Twente’s Under 19 coach.

Apart from a strong bond, the duo also shares a similar footballing philosophy. Like Ten Hag, Hake, too, prefers for all his players to be involved in both attacking and defensive aspects of the game—a fact that makes this a very thoughtful appointment by the new Manchester United hierarchy.
It is still unclear what exact roles Hake and Van Nistelrooy will take up at the Old Trafford outfit. To add to the uncertainty, questions also linger over the future of Ten Hag’s current trusted assistant, Mitchell van der Gaag.
