Manchester United have reached an agreement with their next important transfer target, according to reports.

After signing Joshua Zirkzee and Leny Yoro, the club’s new co-owners had turned their attention towards reinforcing central midfield. However, roadblocks in their pursuit of PSG’s Manuel Ugarte have forced them to look at some mid-priority positions instead, one of which is right-back.

The Red Devils already possess two talented right-backs in Diogo Dalot and Aaron Wan-Bissaka. But with the latter not the ideal fit for the way Erik Ten Hag wants his team to play, the Mancunians are planning to offload the Englishman and replace him with a full-back that matches the Dalot mould.

In fact, the 20-time English champions have not just identified an ideal target, but also made significant progress in their pursuit of his services.

Manchester United agree five-year contract with Noussair Mazraoui

According to Fabrizio Romano, Manchester United have already struck an agreement with their brand new right-back transfer target: Bayern Munich defender Noussair Mazraoui.

The agreement is for a five-year deal that will be valid until June 2029. There is also an option to further extend it by another year, similar to the deals involving Zirkzee and Yoro.

Romano said about the deal: “It also includes an option for further year, 2030. Same as Joshua Zirkzee and Leny Yoro.”

Agreeing a fee with Bayern Munich will not be an issue for the Reds either, as the German giants have already revealed the type of fee they are hoping to get during their negotiations with West Ham. But the deal ended up collapsing because Mazraoui himself preferred a move elsewhere, seemingly to Manchester.

This transfer now hinges entirely on whether Manchester United are able to sell Wan-Bissaka to generate the required funds. The ‘Spider’ is currently in negotiations with West Ham himself, with an outcome expected over the course of this week.
