OFFICIAL: Wolves Sign Manchester United Youngster On Season-Long Loan Deal

Wolverhampton Wanderers have signed Manchester United starlet Cameron Borthwick-Jackson on a season-long loan, the club has confirmed.

The youngster follows Adnan Januzaj (Sunderland), James Wilson (Derby County), Ashley Fletcher (West Ham United), Donald Love (Sunderland), Paddy McNair (Sunderland) and Nick Powell (Wigan Athletic) out of the club, although the latter three have all left the club on a permanent basis.

Borthwick-Jackson made his breakthrough at Manchester United last season under former manager Louis van Gaal, and left a huge impression on United’s fans. He has come through the youth ranks at United, and there is nothing the fans love more than having a local lad in the team.

However, with Marcos Rojo and Luke Shaw ahead of him in the pecking order, the club have decided to send him on loan, for him to gain some crucial first team experience.

The youngster made 14 appearances for United in the previous season, and his performances saw him rewarded with a new contract earlier this summer. Borthwick-Jackson was a key member of Warren Joyce’s u21 title winning side, and was also voted the club’s under 21 player of the year in May at the club’s annual end-of-season awards.

He is still highly rated at the club, but the Old Trafford outfit have felt that it would be pointless for the youngster to waste precious time sitting on the substitutes bench, and hence have decided to loan him out to Championship club Wolves.
