Paul Pogba’s move to Manchester United has left his former team mates at Juventus feeling ‘betrayed’.

According to reports, the midfielder had told the players that he would be staying in Turin. Instead, he ended up signing for Manchester United in a world record £89 million deal.

According to Tuttosport, several players – including Gianluigi Buffon and Paulo Dybala – were left feeling betrayed by Pogba’s decision to go against his word.

Reports also claim that Juventus had actually planned to keep Pogba at the club for the season as they looked to defend their fourth consecutive Serie A crown and push for Champions League glory.

They were even prepared to offer the Frenchman a new contract that included a significant pay rise in order to keep him at the club.

However, thoughts of a new deal failed to materialise as the numbers that Manchester United offered were far greater than what the Bianconeri could come up with.

The plan was to sell the midfielder at the end of the 2016-17 season, and had he signed a new contract, the club believe they could have received an even bigger fee than the record-breaking amount United paid to take him to Old Trafford.

Pogba was also recorded telling Juventus fans that he would be remaining at the club, but he chose to return to his ‘home’ when their offer proved too good to turn down.

He has now started every game for Mourinho since joining the club except the game against Bournemouth, for which he was suspended thanks to a ban carried on from the Italian League.
