Guardiola Finally Opens Up About Aguero And Kompany’s Futures At City
Pep Guardiola has finally opened up about the futures of Manchester City stars Vincent Kompany and Sergio Aguero.
Due to injury, Vincent Kompany has not played for City at all in the UEFA Champions League this season, but he did managed to experience 7 minutes of football in the Premier League against Everton last week.
Sergio Aguero, on the other hand, has featured 6 times in the Premier League. The Argentine star has also featured in all 3 games in the Champions League, but was surprisingly benched for City’s high profile clash against Barcelona this week, which the English giants lost 4-0.
Guardiola was recently asked the reason behind both his star players’ absence from City’s starting line-up at Camp Nou on Wednesday.
“Vincent was not perfectly fit,” Pep revealed. “Sergio, I said after the game, was a tactical decision.”
The Spaniard’s recent team selection has raised numerous doubts regarding both Kompany and Aguero’s future at City. Guardiola addressed these doubts by stating:

“Vincent and Sergio’s futures are at Manchester City. When he is fit, he is a real central defender. I like him. With respect to Aguero, it was a tactical decision. I wanted one more midfield player in the middle. I try to keep the ball because when you have it, Lionel Messi, Neymar and Luis Suarez don’t.
“The next time before you give your opinion and decide Sergio is not in my plans you can call me. I appreciate him as a football player and as a man. When Sergio decides to leave Manchester City, it will be his decision.
“I saw the game this morning and until the first goal the game was under control. My mistake is my mistake. Aguero was my decision. We lost 4-0. I’m guilty. If we win in Barcelona, I am a genius.”
