Rumour: Juventus Beat Several Premier League Clubs To Sign Franck Kessie

Juventus have left behind a host of Premier League clubs to secure a deal for Atalanta’s talented midfielder Franck Kessie, according to a report from Calciomercato.
The Ivorian, having been compared with compatriot and four-time African footballer of the year Yaya Toure because of his astonishing solo runs and powerful strikes, burst into life this season with Serie A’s surprise package, Atalanta, as he found the back of the net four times in his first five appearances in the Italian top flight.
However, the defensive midfielder actually has his sights set on a move to Old Trafford, as he once admitted that he dreams of playing for Manchester United.

“Now I want to learn Italian tactics but in the future, I like the Premier League. I’d like to play for Manchester United. I don’t know if [Jose] Mourinho will be there, but Manchester United has always been my favourite team,” he said in an interview a few months ago.
Meanwhile, Goal claimed back in September that both Arsenal and Manchester City sent scouts to keep tabs on the 19-year-old in person, while several reports in Italy suggested Inter Milan utilized their clash with Atalanta last month to strike a deal as soon as possible, well aware of the number of European giants circling around the young lad.

However, Calciomercato have now reported that Serie A champions Juventus have beaten off a host of suitors by agreeing a fee worth up to £17 million to secure the deal when the January window opens. It eventually allows Kessie to stay with the Bergamo for the rest of the season, before starting his new life with the ‘Old Lady’ in the summer.
