Lindelof Set To Make His Final Appearance For Benfica, Claims Former Teammate
Victor Lindelof is all set to play his final match for Benfica on Wednesday, according to the player’s former teammate.
Robin Blomme, who played alongside Lindelof at Swedish side Vasteras, has now revealed that the young defender is set to represent Benfica for the final time against Rio Ave on Wednesday, ahead of his big money move to Manchester United.
Blomme posted this update on his official twitter account, where he also revealed that the 22-year-old will join the Red Devils for a fee of €45 million.

The tweet also stated that Benfica president Luís Filipe Vieira – who, as per rumours, has travelled to England to discuss a potential January deal for the Swedish star – has reached an agreement with the Old Trafford club.
Enligt mina källor ska Vigge vara klar för Man U för €45 milj. Benficas president stängde affären igår kväll. Gör sin sista match imorgon.

Trusted news sources in England, such as Sky Sports, have also echoed Blomme’s report, and the deal looks close to completion.
Jose Mourinho has seen his team face defensive problems ever since arriving at the Theatre of Dreams in the summer. With his first choice center-back pairing of Eric Bailly and Chris Smalling out injured, the Portuguese has had to make do with the makeshift partnership of Phil Jones and Marcos Rojo – which has also been largely impressive of late.

The arrival of Lindelof next month would surely solve Jose’s problems at the back once and for all. And with the versatile defender being capable of playing both center-back as well as right-back, the Sweden international will provide a decent cover for Antonio Valencia as well.
