Man United Working On Aubameyang Transfer Despite Manager Uncertainity

Manchester United are reportedly working on a £60m deal for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, regardless of which manager is in charge next season, claims The Independent.

Manchester United are reportedly working to sign Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang for next season, despite not sorting out the situation concerning the club’s managerial role.

Having failed to score in 10 of their 39 games this season, Manchester United are determined to bolster their attacking options in the upcoming transfer window, and the 26-year-old Gabonese, who has scored 31 goals in 34 appearances for Dortmund this season, looks like a perfect fit.

Doubts over the future of Van Gaal are growing everyday, and speculation is rife about who will take over, but regardless of that, United’s interest in the striker will remain the same.

As per The Independent, efforts have already been made to move Manchester United into pole position in the race to sign Aubameyang this summer, who is also a leading target for Arsenal, but United hope to successfully beat their Premier League rivals to his signature.

It doesn’t appear to be an easy transfer to complete, as the Gabon international has apparently set his heart on joining Real Madrid.

“My childhood dream was to play for Real Madrid,” Aubameyang said in a recent interview with L’Equipe.

“I promised my grandfather, who was from Avila, some 110 kilometres away from Madrid, that I would play there. I realise that it will not be easy, but it’s always in the back of my mind.”

Manchester United laid the groundwork on deals for Luke Shaw and Ander Herrera before Van Gaal was appointed as David Moyes’ successor in May 2014, and though any manager will have the final say on transfer signings, chief scout Jim Lawlor has been left to press ahead with plans to identify potential summer signings.
