Liverpool Transfer Target Posts A Picture Of Himself Wearing A Rival Shirt
FC Rostov striker Sardar Azmoun has seemingly put a full stop to the speculation linking him with a move to Liverpool, by posting a picture of himself wearing a Manchester United shirt.
Azmoun has been one of the highly-rated youngsters on the continent, after having found the back of the net on 22 occasions in 63 appearances for Rostov, which also includes a goal against Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich.
His performances for the Russian outfit have seen him get linked with transfers to some of the major European clubs, with the biggest one of them being Premier League powerhouse Liverpool.
Reds boss Jurgen Klopp was reportedly set to bring the player to Anfield in the January transfer window, but the move was turned down by the 22-year-old himself.
Azmoun spoke about this supposedly prospective transfer last month, and revealed: “There were talks of Liverpool having expressed an interest in me during the past winter transfer window. However, I did not feel the time to move was right.”

Having failed to sign the striker during the winter, Liverpool were expected to return for his signature in the upcoming summer transfer window, and get the deal done and dusted.
However, the Iranian international appears to have conclusively ended the Merseyside outfit’s hopes of ever getting this transfer done, after the Rostov starlet uploaded a picture of himself wearing the shirt of Liverpool’s arch-rivals Manchester United, with the name Zlatan Ibrahimovic on the back.
Sardar Azmoun seems to be a massive fan of the Red Devils’ star striker, and the youngster even uploaded a picture of himself and Ibrahimovic together on his official Instagram account, which was taken back when Rostov played Manchester United in the UEFA Europa League Round of 16.
