Manchester United are ready to break the bank to land their top transfer target from PSG – versatile defender Marquinhos.

The Red Devils are now unbeaten in their last 21 league games, and the manager will be relatively happy with the progress that his side has made in recent times.

However, he is already looking at a number of star players to add to the squad at the end of the season, and one such player who Jose Mourinho is desperate for is Brazil defender Marquinhos.

The likes of Chris Smalling and Phil Jones have not been reliable this season, and Mourinho is in the market for a centre-back who can walk into the first team next season.

And it is understood that he is determined to land the PSG star this summer. In fact, according to reports from Goal, the Old Trafford club is willing to pay €70m to secure his services at the end of the campaign.

Although no official bids have been submitted for the 22-year old just yet, Manchester United are convinced that Marquinhos is the best option for them, and are willing to meet his valuation.

However, the report also claims that the French giants are reluctant to let one of the crucial players in their squad leave anytime soon.

Rumours claim that PSG are not ready to sell Marquinhos even for a price of €100m, but United are ready to do what it takes to land him this summer.

Mourinho’s side are ready to pay close to €10m in wages for his services, which might lure the Brazilian to England, but it will be interesting to see if United are able to land him in the upcoming transfer window.

Marquinhos was wanted by the Red Devils not so long ago, so it is hard to see them pass this opportunity to get him to the club.
