As Jose Mourinho looks to rebuild Old Trafford into the literal Theatre of Dreams again for its players and fans, as rumours of him targeting new players from all around Europe continue to emerge everyday.

According to latest reports coming in from sources as mentioned by ESPN, the Portuguese boss is currently targeting Brazilian and Chelsea midfielder Willian as one of the four signings he aims to bring to Manchester this summer.

The player is currently at a crossroads in his Chelsea career despite having scored 10 goals this season – two of them recently coming against Tottenham in their FA Cup semifinal win. He has managed to start only 13 games under Antonio Conte so far, and is heavily preferred to be seated on the bench day in day out by his boss.

With Zlatan Ibrahimovic potentially never playing for United again and Wayne Rooney possibly heading for the exit, Mourinho has reportedly instructed Ed Woodward to pursue the midfielder, who he himself bought in Chelsea back in 2013 for a fee of £32 million.

The Portuguese manager loves the player, as the Brazil international carries pace, goal getting abilities, and experience – all of which could come in handy while turning Manchester United into a great side again.

Willian had offers from China earlier this year, which were waved away by the London club as they have him on a contract which sees him stay there for another 4 years. However, with Conte clearly not a fan of putting Willian in the starting lineup, and United on the lookout for talent worthy of wearing the red jersey, anything is possible.
