Real Madrid Wantaway Eyes Wayne Rooney’s Shirt Number
Real Madrid star James Rodriguez already knows which shirt number he wants to wear at his preferred destination: Manchester United.
The Colombian star has not been able to replicate his 2014 World Cup form at the Bernabeu, but has scored some important goals whenever called upon. But he is now frustrated with the lack of first-team opportunities, and is looking for a summer exit.
Zinedine Zidane, the current Real Madrid manager, is looking for a squad overhaul this summer, due to which he has been monitoring some of the best players in Europe.
So Rodriguez has decided that his time in the Spanish capital is up, and he will be on the move this summer.
Jose Mourinho, at Manchester United, is the most desperate manager in Europe for the Colombian’s signature, as the playmaker solves a number of problems that his squad currently faces at Old Trafford.

Rodriguez has been at the top of the Portuguese’s wish list for some time now, and with the Red Devils likely to lose Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Wayne Rooney, and Juan Mata this summer, they desperately need more than just one star player in attack to compete with the best of teams next season.
According to English news outlet The Sun, Manchester United and James Rodriguez have already reached a verbal agreement over a move this summer. And that same paper further claims that Rodriguez is looking to take up the number 10 jersey at the Theatre of Dreams next season.
The decorated shirt number is currently held by club skipper Wayne Rooney, but the English star has not been able to find a regular place in the squad under Mourinho. The 31-year-old is himself looking to quit the club this summer, and Rodriguez is now convinced that he will take over the shirt number and its legacy from next season onwards.
However, replacing the top goalscorer in the Mancunian club’s history might be too big a void to fill for the 25-year old.
