Fellaini Edges Closer To United Exit After Selling His £2.3m-Worth Mansion

Marouane Fellaini has sold his mansion worth around £2.3 million as speculation begins to grow regarding his Manchester United future.
His magnificent villa, consisting of six bedrooms, a heated indoor swimming pool, a home cinema, a gym, and even a hair-salon, was sold soon after United’s clash against local rivals Manchester City.
The midfielder was thrust into the limelight yet again for his antics during the Manchester Derby, thanks to an incident involving Sergio Aguero. Fellaini had just earned himself a yellow card in the last 10 minutes of the encounter after a tackle on the Argentinian, and while the pair were walking away from the scene next to each other, the towering Belgian did a Zinedine Zidane and shoved his head into Aguero.
It was easy to see that the City forward had made the most of it, throwing himself to the ground as if struck by a wrecking ball. However, it goes without saying that Fellaini was completely out of line, and deserved to be awarded a straight red card. The 29-year-old then went on to throw a fit of rage, yelling into the faces of the referee and his assistants.

After the match, Jose Mourinho claimed that had Aguero not gone to ground in such spectacular fashion, it would not have been a red. However, it is unlikely that the Portuguese boss will offer Fellaini any sort of comfort. The Belgian was given a three-game ban and missed United’s 1-1 draw with Swansea City as a result.
United already have an ever growing injury list – Luke Shaw and Eric Bailly hobbled off at Old Trafford against the Swans – and Fellaini’s suspension only makes matters worse for the Red Devils, who now just have 14 players available.
“Marouane said that it’s a red card because it’s him,” said Mourinho. “Martin Atkinson told me that in his opinion it’s a red card.
“But I saw Aguero in the tunnel and no broken nose, no broken head, his face as nice as always, so I’m not so sure. If Sergio doesn’t go to the floor, for sure it’s not a red card, but if Marouane gave him the chance to do that, I don’t know.”
Fellaini has already been the scapegoat for United fans since his arrival, and this latest incident is unlikely to do him any favours in terms of his reputation. Mourinho will be fuming about the immaturity the curly-haired midfielder has shown, and it may have an affect on his future at the club.
Having had a mini-revival to his career at the Theatre of Dreams this season, Mourinho decided to activate the option for an additional twelve months in Fellaini’s contract, guaranteeing him a place at the club at least till the end of next season.
However, despite his attempts to win the club’s supporters over, a majority of the fanbase constantly lashes out at him on social media, calling his by his the nickname, “The Tree”.
With new players sure to come into the side this summer, Fellaini’s place in the team is far from guaranteed. It is yet to be revealed as to whether he will buy a new home in Manchester, or if this could be the start of the end of his career for the Red Devils.
