Lionel Messi Rejects First Barcelona Approach For An Improved Offer
FC Barcelona are a club that currently have an air of tension going through Nou Camp, as their star man and the best player in the world, Lionel Messi, is currently heading towards the end of his contract which expires in the month of January 2018.
The Argentinian has been Barcelona’s playing representative and primary figure across world football over the past years, and has helped them reach the greatest heights the club has ever seen.
However, contract extension talks between the two parties have been on the verge of taking place since a while now, and the atmosphere just got a whole lot tense, as the player reportedly rejected an initial extension worth £30-35 million a year handed by the club, as mentioned by AS.

Neymar and Luis Suarez were recently given new contracts by the club, and hence, there seems to be no rush heading into Messi’s situation. His father and the player himself have reassured Barcelona that the contract signing will eventually take place, and the deal is expected to break through in the weeks that are about to follow.
Messi is a 5-time Ballon D’Or winner, and the probably the biggest name in the sport, and thus, he is fully aware of the desperation Barcelona will have to keep hold of him this summer. Hence, waiting for a better and bigger contract might be a wise step that’s being taken by the little magician.
Messi and Barcelona come together hand in hand though, and surely, there seems to be no splitting them, not anytime soon.
