Man Utd To Target Arch-Rivals’ Star Striker In A Shock Summer Move
Ever since losing Zlatan Ibrahimovic for good a few weeks ago, it has been clear that Jose Mourinho is on the lookout for an equally able striker to replace the big Swede at Old Trafford.
And according to the latest reports coming in from The Sun, the Portuguese man in charge might have his eyes surprisingly set on local and city rivals Manchester City to fulfil this purpose.
Pep Guardiola’s team has a forward that goes by the name of the Sergio Aguero, who is currently on Mourinho’s radar, and might be reeled in to the Theatre of Dreams across town for a fee ranging in the area of £55 million.
The move might be considered to be a smart one, as United look for a striker to be their number one in attacking options, as Wayne Rooney also appears to be heading for the exit door this summer, while City and Guardiola seem to heavily favour new boy Gabriel Jesus, a player all set to become their main man in the attacking third of the pitch.

The Argentine is a proven Premier League goal getter, as he has found the back of the net a staggering 120 times in a 178 appearances since his debut in 2011 – a stat and ability the Red Devils can certainly do with as they look to rebuild their squad to be fit enough for Europe and title contention again.
City are currently in 3rd spot in the Premier League, while United sit in 5th, having played one game lesser and being 4 points behind their local rivals. European qualification might be an essential factor needed to snatch away a player from bitter opposition, but winning the Europa league would certainly help Mourinho and his men big time.
