If reports from French publication L’Equipe are to be believed, Liverpool have enquired Paris St-Germain about the availability of Lucas Moura, as they are aware that the French giants are ready to sell him if the right offer is made.

Ever Since the Brazilian, who was wanted by Sir Alex Ferguson, snubbed Old Trafford move and joined PSG from Sao Paulo in 2013, he has been a first-team regular at the Parc des Princes, scoring 42 goals and assisting 52 times in 230 games. However, his time in Paris could come to an end this season, especially with numerous interested parties chasing him for a long time.

There is no denying that Liverpool have relied a lot on Sadio Mane, and when the former Southampton man suffers any injury setbacks, they have been awfully static with a dire lack of penetration and creativity. In fact, in yesterday’s stalemate against Southampton, Liverpool found it very hard to break the resolute Saints’ defence without Mane.

Therefore, the club is desperately in need of an attacking winger this summer, and Lucas could be a very good signing, as the Brazilian’s pace, precision, and versatility would perfectly suit Klopp’s direct attacking football.

There is no denying that this move will seemingly depend on Liverpool’s involvement in Champions League next term, as they are still fighting for the top 4 finish this season.

This is not the first that Lucas has been linked with a move to Anfield. In fact, in November 2015, Liverpool made contact with PSG about a potential January move. Later, the former Sao Paolo star was speculated to be a transfer target for the Reds during the 2016 summer window, after the French giants signed Jese and Hatem Ben Arfa.

Lucas has two years left on his contract and it is rumoured that he could be priced away from PSG for £30m. But as per the aforementioned report, the Reds are sure to face a strong competition from Atletico Madrid, who are also in the race to sign the winger this summer.
