Liverpool Want Chelsea Playmaker Cesc Fabregas
Premier League rivals Manchester United and Liverpool are set to fight it out for Chelsea star Cesc Fabregas.
The Red Devils have faced a few issues in the centre of the midfield this season, as they have not been able to stick with a combination that works. The likes of Marouane Fellaini and Michael Carrick might not be at the club next season, and they will need an experienced player who can shoulder the responsibilities.
The same goes for Liverpool, who have failed to play a consistent midfield trio that can win them games. While Jordan Henderson remains on the sidelines, Lucas Leiva may not be playing for the Reds next season. Jurgen Klopp will, therefore, search the summer market for a midfielder.
And according to reports from Calciomercato, both the English clubs are now ready to fight for the signature of Chelsea star Cesc Fabregas.
The former Barcelona and Arsenal man helped Chelsea to the league title not too long ago, and is also close to lifting the second one in three years this season.
Antonio Conte, the current Blues’ boss, has preferred Nemanja Matic and N’Golo Kante for crunch games this season, putting Fabregas on the bench regularly. Hence, it is understood that the Spaniard is looking for more game time, and could be tempted to sign for either of the two most successful clubs in England.
At 30, Fabregas has gathered some valuable experience as a player, which can help both sides in their pursuit of silverware in the upcoming campaign.
Having also played for Arsenal in the past, Fabregas is accustomed to playing at the highest level in England, and surely, Liverpool and Manchester United will want to do everything they can to land him this summer.
