The Premier League has released its star-studded shortlist for the 2016-17 Player and Manager of the Season awards.

The Players’ list, consisting of 8 candidates, is rather unsurprisingly dominated by Chelsea and Tottenham superstars, as Cesar Azpilicueta, N’Golo Kante, and Eden Hazard feature from the newly-crowned Premier League Champions’ squad, whereas players from second-placed Spurs include Dele Alli, Harry Kane, and Jan Vertonghen.

The two remaining players sit atop the league’s goalscoring charts – Romelu Lukaku in the first spot with 24 goals, and Alexis Sanchez, who sits third behind Harry Kane with the tally of 21.

Meanwhile, the managerial shortlist consists of six candidates, with the obvious one being Antonio Conte, who led Chelsea to the decorated title in his debut season in England. The Italian is joined by Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino, who came extremely close to giving the Blues a late scare in the title race.

Swansea manager Paul Clement and Burnley boss Sean Dyche also feature on the shortlist, for doing an impressive job by keeping their teams in the top flight of English football.

Eddie Howe and Tony Pulis complete the list, after having exceeded expectations in this competition with Bournemouth and West Bromwich Albion respectively.
