Arsenal have struck gold by securing one of best fullbacks in the Bundesliga for free, as Sead Kolasinac will leave Schalke to join the Gunners in July, claims Sky Sports.

Although Arsene Wenger is yet to announce his future, Arsenal have concluded some early business to land Kolasinac from Schalke, who has impressed a number of clubs with his spectacular displays in the Bundesliga this season.

The defender will be out of contract at Schalke in July, due to the fact that he wasn’t offered a new contract by the German club because of his Cruciate Ligament injury in 2014.

However, having realised their mistake and witnessed the recent sensational form of the left-back, Schalke recently did make a few offers to convince him to stay, which he rejected to leave for free.

It’s worth noting that Chelsea had a bid rejected for Kolasinac in January, and there were other clubs like Manchester City, Juventus, Everton and AC Milan interested in his services. However, Arsenal have now emerged out as the winners in the race to sign the coveted defender.

Kolasinac will have to hit the ground running as soon as the transfer is complete, as Arsenal have looked shaky at the left-back position, with an ageing Nacho Monreal and an inconsistent Kieran Gibbs. In fact, the signing of Kolasinac is being seen as the end of the road for one of the two at the Emirates.

The Bosnian, who has been in prime form this season, has stood out as one of the best offensive left-backs in Europe, with 7 assists and 3 goals to his name for the ongoing campaign.
