Eric Dier Joins The List Of Players Who Intend To Quit Spurs This Summer
Tottenham Hotspur’s consistency in the last couple of seasons does not seem enough to keep their top stars at the club, as Eric Dier joins a host of his fellow teammates in looking for a new club.
Mauricio Pochettino’s side have picked up more points than any other team in English top-flight since the start of the previous season. But with a third and a second place finish and no trophy to show, there is little progress, at least according to some of the star players.
The Argentine tactician has a recruitment model that has worked wonders so far, but there is a danger of it all collapsing this summer.
The full-back pair of Kyle Walker and Danny Rose are already being linked with an exit in the summer transfer window, and The Sun now claims that versatile midfielder Eric Dier is also ready to quit the club.
The report claims that Walker and Rose are wanted by the cash-rich Manchester clubs, and that Eric Dier is also on their wish list. Moreover, a monumental pay rise on offer and a better chance of winning trophies is reportedly turning Dier’s head at the moment.
Dier has been used in a variety of roles by Pochettino this season, but he is far from a regular name in the first team. To add to it, he currently earns £65,000-a-week, and both Manchester clubs are ready to offer more game time and a better pay deal.
The yourster is valued at £40m, which should hardly be a problem for either United or City, and this might result in a tug of war for the 23-year old this summer.
Where do you think Dier will play his football next season?
