Renato Sanches Offered To Barcelona, Real Madrid On Alert
Bayern Munich wonderkid Renato Sanches is understood to have been offered to Barcelona, putting league rivals Real Madrid and English giants Manchester United on their toes.
According to the Spanish media outlet Don Balon, high-profile agent Jorge Mendes has offered the player to Barcelona. This comes after multiple reports stating clear interest from both Manchester United and Real Madrid in signing the player.
Only 19, Sanches first caught the eyes of the European masses when he started playing for the Benfica first-team back in 2015. His first season with the club saw them win both the Primeira Liga and Taca da Liga. Within one season, the player received an offer from German greats Bayern Munich for €35 million, the highest move away from a Portuguese club.
While he was quite the player at Benfica, he became the name he is now thanks to his amazing performances at the Euros for Portugal. Having been awarded the best young player of the tournament and also helping his team win the title in extra time, it really brought his talent right up on the world stage.

The move to Bavaria saw a lot of expectations riddled on the player, especially due to the high price tag in comparison to the general Bundesliga transfers. Despite his efforts, he couldn’t really make a mark in the first team, playing 25 games in total for the club, having started in 17 of them.
Apparently, the Bundesliga club are so disappointed with the purchase of the player, that they might be willing to sell him for the same value they bought him at – €35 million. Despite Carlos Ancelotti’s assurances that the Portuguese will be a part of Bayern Munich’s plans next season, the rumors haven’t subsided.
Jose Mourinho had been a fan of Renato ever since the midfielder’s Benfica days, and was not happy that Bayern Munich swooped for him before Manchester United. Having failed to bring the player to Old Trafford last summer, the former Chelsea boss might not want to miss out on an opportunity this summer.
The deal seems highly unlikely though, as the player is still very young, and has a lot to give to the first team at Bayern Munich. A very talented prospect, it’s highly unlikely Bayern Munich will let him go.
