Disgruntled Bayern Munich Duo Could Leave This Summer
A disappointing season for Renato Sanches and Douglas Costa in terms of game time has encouraged Manchester United to try and prise them from Bayern Munich. The duo have spent much of the season on the bench, and might be ready to move away in the summer.
Sanches was wanted by United last summer, but the 19-year-old decided that an opportunity to train and play alongside much bigger stars was more worthwhile, and opted for the Allianz Arena. He might get a chance at playing in United colours next season, though.
Costa sparkled under Pep Guardiola last season, but Carlo Ancelotti’s arrival as coach has seen him spend more time on the bench. This has sparked interest from Liverpool. The Merseysiders are looking to strengthen their squad after qualifying for the Champions League, and the Brazilian would surely be a good addition to the team.
United are also interested in the trickster, according to Kicker (via the Mirror). The Red Devils look set to grab the duo in the transfer window if they qualify for the Champions League by beating Ajax in the Europa League final.
With Joshua Kimmich and Kingsley Coman preferred over Sanches and Costa, the pair is likely to move to England and avoid more time on the bench.
