As rumours related to Monaco midfielder gained momentum in recent weeks, last night they reached levels of no return as Bernardo Silva arrived in Manchester ahead of his proposed move to either team in the city of Manchester.

As reported by the Manchester Evening News, the player landed in England to complete a move to the country and with both arch rivals involved, it is Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City that remain favourites to reel him in.

The player was highly influential in Monaco’s Ligue 1 winning campaign this gone season and was also a part of the side that knocked Manchester City out of the Champions League in the Round of 16 stages.

The player is an attacking creative midfielder, a role that Pep currently has options in with David Silva, Ilkay Gundogan and Kevin De Bruyne, all part of the team, but the former Barcelona manager wants more quality and hence could be eager to bring in the 22-year-old as a valuable addition.

The Spanish tactician was recently quoted saying: “The big qualities in the big, big clubs is when you are close to the box of the opponent, the players don’t lose the ball. Big teams don’t lose the ball.”

This proves his desperation to get talent of the highest order into the squad and despite Mourinho also on the lookout for attacking options for next season, City could well be Silva’s next destination.

Both Manchester clubs seem ready to spend big in the summer in order to contend for European and domestic trophies in the coming season, and who strikes first blood in the shape of Bernardo is soon to be confirmed.
