Blaise Matuidi has revealed that he is unsure of his future at Paris Saint-Germain, thereby putting his transfer links with Manchester United in the limelight.

Matuidi didn’t confirm his intention of staying at his present club, as he went on to say that he was unsure on where he would end up in the future.

The midfielder has been a long-term target for the Red Devils, and with his present contract at the Paris-based club running till 2018, his hesitation in signing a new contract opens him for new offers from other clubs in the upcoming transfer market.

While his club failed to win the Ligue 1 title due to Monaco, their recent trophy – the Coupe de France – put them on a good pedestal.

Speaking after helping his team win the competition, the French international spoke about his future by stating: “I don’t know yet. I am feeling good in Paris. It’s hard as you don’t know the real position of the club. PSG made a proposition to me. They are open to everything when it comes to me. There is no decision taken so far.”

It is understood that he was offered a new deal by PSG last season, but it was rejected with an outrage, as the midfielder had to take a pay cut in comparison to his previous salary.

After having won 11 trophies in Paris alone, the 30-year-old could now be looking towards a move to Old Trafford, with Jose Mourinho himself plotting for an offer with a pay-cut.

With age against him and PSG trying to reduce his financial footprint on their club, he might be available to move to another nation since he started playing professional football. Having started his career at St. Etienne, he moved to PSG in 2011, and has not moved from there ever since.

Manchester United are looking at several options in midfield, and are on the lookout for a central midfielder to take Marouane Fellaini’s position. If the move does materialize, we could see Fellaini being moved to a role on the substitute bench.

Blaise Matuidi has played 53 games for PSG this season over all competitions, and has scored 6 goals and bagged 5 assists in the process. With United already having a midfielder in the form of Pogba, another Frenchman could potentially create a strong midfield duo at the Theatre of Dreams.
