Marc-André Ter Stegen has signed an extension at Camp Nou, which will keep him at the club till 2022.

Barcelona have put the speculation surrounding Ter Stegen’s future to rest by extending his contract. There was much talk about the German international joining Pep Guardiola at Manchester City, however, he has now committed his next five years to Barcelona.

Meanwhile, Pep and Manchester City have shifted their focus onto Benfica’s Ederson, who is expected to undergo a medical tomorrow.

The German international arrived at Barcelona for £9.7 million from Bundesliga club Borussia Mönchengladbach in the summer of 2014. At the time of his arrival, he had a buy-out clause of £63.6 million inserted in his deal, which has now been raised to £180 million with the new contract.

Ter Stegen has won 9 trophies with Barcelona in his 3-year stay with them, including 2 La liga titles, 1 Champions League, 1 Club World Cup, 1 Spanish Super Cup and 1 European Super Cup.

The sweeper keeper has played 93 matches for the Catalans, in which he has won 71 wins, drawn 10 and lost 12 matches. He has conceded a total of 90 goals in all these appearances.

The goalkeeper most recently featured in his club’s 3-1 win in the final of Copa Del Rey on Sunday, where they beat Alaves.
