Manchester United are yet to make an impact on the transfer market, but they seem to have several deals in the loop, with an announcement soon expected.

Manchester United are desperately searching for a strong striker as a future investment at the club. With Zlatan Ibrahimovic put down with a major injury and age, the Europa League winners are looking at a frontman who could play alongside Marcus Rashford and be a permanent starter. An added plus would be young age, making the player future proof, as well as an appreciating investment for the club.

The tertiary target for Manchester United, Antoine Griezmann, has been teasing a move to United through social media for some time now. With recent reports of the Frenchman making his intentions of leaving the club clear with Atletico Madrid, the move is slowly gaining traction.

Top Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio reports that PSG trying to poach Griezmann, but the 26-year-old doesn’t wish to play in France, and has hence, dropped down the move.

Atletico Madrid understandably are willing to let the player go. With their legacy for producing top-quality strikers, it comes as a shock that they are looking to get back their ex-player and Chelsea starter Diego Costa back to their club. It might cost them serious money, though.

Despite all the hullabaloo about Antoine, it is understood that he only comes third in the transfer target list after, Morata and Mbappe.

Kylian Mbappe seems to be an unlikely prospect right now, with both Manchester City and Real Madrid bidding high stakes on the player. The bids are rumored to go as high as €130 million by either clubs in an attempt to woo the 18-year-old to their club. Despite having the financial firepower, it is doubtful that United would spend such money.

Monaco have already lost their star midfielder Bernardo Silva to Manchester City, and the Citizens are running close to bring another one of the playmaker’s teammate, Benjamin Mendy, to their club. It almost seems as if Monaco’s Ligue 1 Champions’ status has come at a high cost of losing their young players to the giants of Europe.

The Spanish forward, Alvaro Morata, has had a stellar season for Real Madrid this season, and is attracting eyes from both Premier League and Serie A itself.

With Manchester United yet to place a serious bid on the player, AC Milan’s high-value bid, thanks to their Chinese owners, might steal him away. Chelsea are also looking to place a bid on him to contest the Rossoneri.

It is clear that Old Trafford needs a renewed player up front after a subdued attacking performance this season. While Antoine seems to be the most probable signing, we never know when Jose Mourinho and Ed Woodward might surprise their fans.

Who ever MU signs upfront this summer, Griezmann must be there… A left back, holding midfielder, a center back to complement Baily and a number 9. These five signings for me would see united being a better side capable of anything …
