According to the latest reports via BBC, Manchester United have changed their priorities because of Zlatan’s injury, and Griezmann is no longer a target for the English club.

Just when it seemed that Griezmann’s transfer to Manchester United was imminent, latest developments in England and Spain have put off a potential move.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s long-term injury and the uncertainty over extension of his contract have forced the Red Devils to shift their focus onto an out and out striker, and abandon the pursuit of the French superstar.

Meanwhile, the Court of Arbitration for Sports in Spain has upheld the transfer ban on Atletico Madrid, meaning the club won’t be able to replace their star man if he moved to Manchester United during the summer.

The ban has affected the transfer plans of both Atletico and Manchester United, as Lacazette’s transfer from Lyon to Atletico will now most probably be called off. Lacazette was believed to be the replacement of Griezmann. who looked certain to move to Manchester United.

However, due to the transfer ban, the equation becomes complicated, as the Atletico attacker might not want to force a move away because of his club’s inability to sign new players.

Sensing the problems in Griezmann’s transfer, Manchester United were quick to change their focus to a recruitment in striking department. Jose Mourinho’s side is shorthanded upfront with the long-term injury of Zlatan, who is reluctant to sign a new contract at this point. The Swede’s current contract with Manchester United expires on the 30th of June.

It is being reported that Romelu Lukaku of Everton and Andrea Belotti of Torino are now the two names high up on the priority list of the Portuguese coach.
