Arsenal Submit €100m Bid For Kylian Mbappe

If reports in the French magazine L’Equipe are to be believed, Arsenal have made a €100m bid for the highly rated Monaco forward Kylian Mbappe. This is the largest bid the Gunners have ever made for a footballer in their history, and the massive news came just days after Arsene Wenger signed a new two-year contract at the club.
The 18-year-old is one of Europe’s hottest prospects, after playing an instrumental role in Monaco’s run up to making the semi-finals of the Champions League and clinching the Ligue 1 title comfortably ahead of Paris St-Germain.
The sensational teenager has scored 26 goals and 14 assists in 44 appearances in all competitions, and owing to his exploits, the Frenchman has been the centre of attention in the summer transfer window, with a lot of top clubs, including Real Madrid and Manchester City, linked with him for many months.
In fact, earlier reports in the French publication Telefoot claimed that Mbappe could end up signing for either Manchester City or Real Madrid, after both clubs submitted mammoth bids of €130m.

However, the latest report in L’Equipe says that Arsenal have also joined the race for the Monaco wonderkid, and have reportedly matched Real Madrid and Manchester City’s bid to lure the striker away from France.
Wenger has made no secret of his admiration for the striker, and has already said that he visited Mbappe at his home last year in an attempt to bring him to the Emirates Stadium.
Despite the Gunners having submitted the club record bid, their move for the forward could hit a snag, as they missed the Champions League football for the first time since 1997, and Mbappe will, by no means, play for a club that missed its spot in Europe’s elite competition.
