Turkish Giants Close In On Marouane Fellaini
Turkish giants Trabzonspor have reportedly reached an advanced stage in their talks with Manchester United over the transfer of Marouane Fellaini.
According to reports in Turkey, it has been claimed that negotiations between the Premier League side and Trabzonspor are ongoing, but a deal has not been reached yet. The 6-time Süper Lig Champions are keen on signing the Belgian, to celebrate their 50th anniversary of the founding of the club.
Fellaini, who has just over a year left on his current contract with the Red Devils, was bought from Everton for €32 million in 2014. He is yet to be offered a new deal, and if United decide against renewing his contract over the summer, they would lose the midfielder for a free transfer.
The 28-year-old has also been mooted with a move to China, and Fellaini has himself hinted on being open to the switch in the future.
The Belgium international recently told VTM News, “In China? Why not? I’m now a Manchester United player, but I do not rule out such a transfer in the future.”
In his 133 games since moving to Old Trafford, Fellaini has netted 15 goals and bagged 9 assists. He has also enjoyed decent game time under Jose Mourinho, having made 47 appearances for the Reds in all competitions this season.
