Real Madrid Give Up On Signing De Gea This Summer

Jose Mourinho seems to have struck the right chords in the transfer of David De Gea, as Real Madrid seem to have lost their hope of signing the talisman, according to reports.
The Red Devils managed to get themselves a place in next season’s Champions League on the last day of their 2016-17 campaign, and it now looks like that could be enough to keep David De Gea at Old Trafford for yet another season.
The former Atletico Madrid shot-stopper was a target for Los Blancos a couple of years ago, and just like back then, Manchester United seem to have won the ongoing battle to retain his services.
The current first-choice at the Bernabeu, Keylor Navas, has just not shown enough consistency to be lead the side next season, but Spanish news outlet Marca claims that Zinedine Zidane is now ready to stick with the Costa Rican international for at least another campaign.

The publication firmly states that Real Madrid will not pursue David De Gea or any other player for that position, and are happy with Kiko Casilla as Navas’ only backup in the first team.
This comes on the back of reports that Mourinho is ready to fight to keep De Gea at the club for years to come, and it now looks like the Red Devils will start the Spaniard in goal after all for at least the upcoming season.
At 26, the Spaniard is easily one of the best in his position, and would have fetched some big bucks, but there are no readymade replacements in the current transfer market for a player of his abilities, and Mourinho will be happy to have emerged victorious in this transfer saga.
But will this be the conclusive end of the David De Gea to Real Madrid story?
