Rooney Insists That Taking A Pay Cut To Remain In England Is Not An Option

Manchester United skipper Wayne Rooney’s future has been one of the talking points recently, and as per reports, the United man is said to be pricing himself out of a Premier League move if he quits Manchester United.
According to Mirror, the 31-year-old has had offers from China which could easily double his current £12 million-a-year contract, but the striker has admitted that he would love an emotional return to boyhood club Everton to stay in his homeland.
However, the star man has also insisted on the fact that he won’t take a pay cut to remain in England.

Rooney, who has two years remaining on his contract with the Red Devils, appeared to be saying his final goodbyes to the Old Trafford faithful at Michael Carrick’s testimonial game last Sunday.
Stoke City, Newcastle United and West Bromwich Albion have all reportedly shown interest in Manchester United’s all-time top scorer, but none of them would be willing to pay the Englishman’s mammoth wages.
Hence, Rooney may have to choose between taking Chinese money and staying at Old Trafford, in the hope that United decide to pay up his contract to get off their payroll.
