Manchester United have been heavily linked with a transfer for Real Madrid striker Alvaro Morata, and have reportedly moved ahead in their pursuit to land the Spaniard, as confirmed by the player’s agent, Juanma Lopez.

Lopez mentioned that Morata and United are waiting for Real Madrid to make the final decision on the striker’s future, as to whether or not to sell the striker to the Old Trafford club.

Meanwhile, Italian giants AC Milan, who had also shown an interest in Morata, seem to have taken a step back after their bid was rejected by Madrid.

Morata’s agent confirmed the news that the Spanish heavyweights had turned down an offer from the Serie A side, and they are now set to make a decision on the proposal from the Red Devils.

“Manchester United is a great club, a very interesting option,” Juanma Lopez was quoted as saying by CalcioMercato.com“I can say that this is a very important proposal and now the decision is Real.

“Yes Milan did feel Morata, there have been frequent contacts with us until a few days ago, I can confirm it. Real Madrid has simply found the Rossoneri club’s offer unsatisfactory.”

The Spanish striker is said to be very close to making a summer switch to Old Trafford, after failing to make a place in Zinedine Zidane’s side.

In fact, the 24-year-old recently fueled the speculation that he could be moving to United, by ‘liking’ an Instagram post that linked him to the Premier League giants.

Lopez also answered some follow up questions about the probability of the deal in the coming future.

“I can say that their proposal is a very, very important one and now the decision rests with Real. I cannot say (if a deal will be closed soon) we will see,” he added.
