As the Premier League fixtures for the upcoming 2017-18 season were recently announced, it makes the two months to come supremely tough and slow to pass as the excitement hits sky high levels.

After a mouth watering and beautiful season gone by, which saw topsy turvy results, London dominance, and unpredictability of the highest order as usual, the fresh set of matches certainly gives out a feeling that the new season will be nothing less in terms of drama and brilliance, if not more.

As far as the big boys are concerned, Chelsea will begin their title defence with a match at home to Burnley, while Jose Mourinho and his side will welcome West Ham United on a challenging opening day at Old Trafford. Liverpool will travel to Watford, while Arsenal welcome Leicester City on day one.

However, the intensity picks up full pace in the second week, as Tottenham welcome Chelsea for their first ever home game at the Wembley Stadium – a clash between the Runners up and Champions of the previous season.

Liverpool face a tough opening month with a visiting Arsenal side in week 3 and a trip to the Etihad in the week following that.

14th October sees Liverpool face arch-rivals Manchester United, while 9th December will bring about not only the first Manchester Derby, which will be an epic battle at Old Trafford, but also the famous Merseyside Derby, with Anfield being the host.

The Arsenal-Tottenham derbies will be played on the 18th of November and the 10th of February, while the reverse Manchester and Merseyside derbies will be held in early April.

Newcomers Brighton and Newcastle United will open their season with ties against Manchester City and Tottenham respectively. Huddersfield, on the other hand, will have an extremely tough finish to the season with Manchester City the opponents in game 37 and Arsenal visiting on the last day.

Countless more jaw dropping fixtures create unmatchable excitement for the campaign to follow, and in order to know each and every one of them, visit the Premier League Website.
