England’s loss to a 10-man French side on Tuesday night was nothing short of an eye-opener for the men in white, as they were thoroughly second best for the majority of the match. Gary Cahill, in particular, seemed to have a very tough day at the job, along with England’s complete defensive line-up.

The 31-year-old Chelsea defender, who was made miserable by France’s front-line, had to encounter even more humiliation towards the end of the second half, when Paul Pogba destroyed him with a lovely bit of footwork, leaving him absolutely dumbfound.

The game that was packed with action had something special in store for the fans, when Pogba danced around Cahill, before nutmegging him and passing through the man like he wasn’t even there. Moreover, the response that followed the terrific skill from the Manchester United star on twitter was further humiliating for Cahill.

However, when one fan’s tweet crossed the line for the England international, the centre-back was quick to let his feelings out about how much he actually cared.

The Premier League Champion was seen highlighting the lack of importance of the friendly fixture, as he tweeted: “@VictorEffiom7 @paulpogba Ye that end of season friendly.”

The game saw Harry Kane score the opener, before Samuel Umtiti and Djibril Sidibe scored to give France a 2-1 lead. Kane then equalised from the penalty that followed Raphael Varane’s sending off, but Ousmane Dembele’s 78th minute goal saw France beat England 3-2 in Paris.
