Dani Alves Urges Paulo Dybala To Leave Juventus To Become A Better Player

Dani Alves has surprisingly revealed that he told his Juventus teammate Paulo Dybala that he will have to leave the club one day if he is to improve even more.

Dybala has been in sensational form, and enjoyed a magnificent season for Juventus in the last campaign, guiding them to the Champions League final and the Serie A title.

As a result, his stock has risen dramatically, and a host of Europe’s elite clubs have shown a serious interest in snapping up the Argentine, who is regarded as the heir to Lionel Messi in his homeland.

The 23-year-old could very well leave the Italian giants if the right offer comes in, and the Turin club’s very own right-back Dani Alves has urged him to leave the club in the future, in order to develop and become even better than he is now.

“La Joya [Dybala’s nickname] will bear fruit,” Alves said in an interview on Esporte Interativo (via The Independent), a Brazilian television channel.

“He is a jewel that will blossom. We talked so many times about it and I said one day, I don’t know when, that he will have to leave Juventus if he is to improve even more.”

As for his own future, Alves has not yet been offered a new contract by the Bianconeri, and he threatened to leave the club and sign for a side in the Premier League if they decide not to do so. He is keen to stay with the Old Lady, but could be forced to look elsewhere if the Juve hierarchy doesn’t feel the same way.

“Last year I turned down many offers from the Premier League because I felt I had to go to Serie A,” he added. “There is a great defensive culture, and to go and play in England, you have to know how to defend well. I hope that one day I will go there.”

Asked if that could happen soon, Alves responded: “Who knows? We’ll see.”
