Top Transfer Rumours Of The Day: Diego Costa, Lacazette, Marquinhos, And More
1. Diego Costa To Atletico Madrid
What’s the story?
If Sky Sports sources and their reports are said to be true, then a reunion for outgoing Chelsea striker, Diego Costa, seems to be on the cards, as the player wishes to return to Atletico Madrid. After publicly claiming that Antonio Conte texted him saying he is no longer required at Stamford Bridge, the player is on the lookout for a new side to switch to over the summer.
Should the deal take place?
The big forward was in fine form last season, as he scored 20 goals in 32 League appearances for Chelsea as they went on and became the Champions of England.
However, rejoining the side from which he was signed from in 2014, might be risky business, as not only does Antoine Griezmann hold top priority there, but Atleti have also been handed a transfer ban for the summer. If the 2018 World Cup is an aim, the striker should look to head somewhere where game time will be more available and less controversial.
Possibility of it happening
If Diego does manage to sign for his former club, he will not be allowed to play for them until January 2018. However, with no other offers on the table, anything seems possible, and hence, 5/10 are the chances of the deal taking place.
2. Alexandre Lacazette To Arsenal
What’s the story?
No man and club seem more eager to turn things around after a disastrous last season than Arsene Wenger and his Arsenal side. Despite being protested against and being pushed towards the exit door, the French boss extended his contract in London for another two years, and is on the run to desperately try to bring things back in place.
Sky Sports reports that the Gunners are taking the transfer window seriously, as they are currently holding talks with Lyon striker Alexandre Lacazette.
Should the deal take place?
The player almost made a move to Atletico in May, but had to drop the idea after the La Liga side faced the transfer ban, and in return, opened the doors for Arsenal to sniff in with a chance.
The striker scored 37 goals in 45 games last season, and being a French international, he could be all that Wenger dreams of these days. Arsenal are in desperate search for a highly rated summer signing, and with £44 million being the amount asked, it might be something they can afford. However, the absence of the Champions League might cause the forward to look at other available options.
Possibility of it happening
The Premier League side seems confident of landing the player, and hence, have the chances slightly in their favour, with them being placed at 6/10.
3. Marquinhos To Manchester United
What’s the story?
Another day, another name linked to Manchester United. Brazilian newspaper Globo Esporte added yet another player to the list of those coming to Old Trafford, with Marquinhos from PSG being the newly emerged target. The Red Devils have apparently upped their sudden interest in the defender, and have made a staggering £61.5m worth bid for his services.
Should the deal take place?
The 23-year-old has been at the heart of the French side’s defence for a while now, and his regularly solid performances have attracted interest from other big clubs too. Barcelona and Juventus also have an eye out for the Brazilian international, with the La Liga side putting out a £35m bid for the player. However, heading to a team and fighting for a spot might not be the best choice to make with the World Cup coming up next year.
Possibility of it happening
The side from Manchester recently signed Swedish centre back Victor Lindelof, and adding another defender for such a huge sum seems highly unlikely. Thus, a possibility of 3/10 exists in favour of this deal and nothing more.
4. Kylian Mbappe To Paris Saint-Germain
What’s the story?
No transfer round up is complete without the inclusion of teenage sensation, Kylian Mbappe. In his constant links to every big club out there, ESPN recently reported that PSG are currently planning to take the lead in this topsy turvy race to sign the player.
Should the deal take place?
The wonder kid was the most integral bit of Monaco’s phenomenal success last season, which saw him become a prime target for many teams, including Real Madrid. However, fellow rivals PSG seem set to upset the Spanish side as they prepare a mouth watering and jaw dropping €135 million worth deal for the striker’s services. A move to bitter rivals might not go down well with a huge number of fans, and with his team being the current champions, staying would be a better option.
Possibility of it happening
The player recently stated that if he was to move, it would either be to Zidane’s side or no place else at all. Hence, the possibility of the capital bringing him in are currently 4/10.
