Real Madrid have been forced to enter talks with Manchester United again, after Alvaro Morata approached the club hierarchy, asking to let him depart from Santiago Bernabeu.

Manchester United and Real Madrid didn’t give in each others’ demands earlier, when both the parties discussed a potential transfer of Morata. Los Blancos had set a £70 million asking price for their striker, but Jose Mourinho deemed that the price was too high.

Since then, both clubs have been playing the waiting game to see who blinks first, and now it seems like the Champions League winners have submitted to the Red Devils.

Morata spoke to the hierarchy at Real Madrid, and made it clear that he has no intention to spend another season at the Bernabeu. Club manager Zinedine Zidane tried his best to convince the wantaway striker to stay, but it proved to be a lost cause.

Although the La Liga giants still maintain that their striker won’t be available for anything less than £70 million, they are now fully aware of Morata’s wishes, and might therefore, have to lower the asking price.

Meanwhile, Jose Mourinho has offered the Spaniard a key role in his squad, and there are reports that the forward has already agreed to personal terms with Manchester United.

If reports from Marca are to be believed, a definitive decision on Morata’s future is expected to come next week, when the player gets back from his holidays. Upon his arrival, the 24-year-old will hold further talks with Real Madrid and Manchester United in a bid to resolve his future soon.
