Inter Milan And Juventus Fight For Matteo Darmian

According to Sky Sports journalist Kaveh Solhekol, Matteo Darmian is a much coveted player for Italian clubs like Inter Milan and Juventus.

Inter Milan have entered the race to sign the Italian full-back, who is also seen as a Dani Alves replacement by Juventus. Darmian has been mostly on the fringes for Manchester United during his spell at Old Trafford, and the player could be tempted for a return to his home country.

Having arrived for £12.7 million from Torino in 2015, Darmian has been a backup option mostly throughout his stay. The player is certainly not happy with the lack of playing time he has been getting at Old Trafford, but Jose Mourinho, who regards Darmian as a useful squad player, will try to convince him to stay put.

Meanwhile, Inter Milan and Juventus are trying their best to lure the player to Italy by offering him a bigger role in their squads. Juve, in particular, are very keen on the full-back, as they consider him the perfect replacement for Dani Alves, who has left the Old Lady to reunite with Pep Guardiola.

The 27-year-old will be promised a starting role ahead of Stephan Lichtsteiner by coach Massimiliano Allegri, if his transfer to Juventus goes through.
