Wayne Rooney Still Wanted By Everton, Claim Reports

Manchester United legend and skipper Wayne Rooney could leave the Old Trafford giants, as interest from fellow Premier League club Everton still looms around.
According to Sky Sports, Everton have not ruled out a deal to bring Wayne Rooney back to Goodison Park, as manager Ronald Koeman is fond of the England star. Koeman believes Rooney will be a vital addition to the squad with his experience and leadership.
The 31-year-old is likely to leave Manchester United this summer, having found opportunities limited under Jose Mourinho last season. But Rooney’s wage bill is something many clubs are not willing to match. Rooney has two seasons more under his contract, and if any major approach doesn’t come ahead, he will still stay at United.
The United captain, who left Everton for Old Trafford in 2004 as an 18-year-old, has previously said the Toffees remain one of only two Premier League clubs he would play for.
United manager Jose Mourinho had said that he wants the club captain to stay next season and fight for a place, although it will be up to the star player to decide on his future.
Further reports in Sky Sports also suggest that Everton have identified Arsenal forward Olivier Giroud as a forward option, with Romelu Lukaku having said he has reached “an agreement” with another Premier League club. Giroud is also targeted by West Ham United, and it will be interesting to see where the Frenchman moves.

Meanwhile, Everton have wasted no time at all in the transfer window, having already signed £30m-rated goalkeeper Jordan Pickford, £24m midfielder Davy Klaassen, £7m striker Henry Onyekuru, and also securing the signature of Malaga forward Sandro Ramirez.
The Toffees are also said to be closing in on deals for Burnley defender Michael Keane, and if they can land Rooney or Giroud, it will be an icing on the cake ahead of a vital season in the Premier League.
