Real Madrid superstar Gareth Bale is determined to continue playing at the Santiago Bernabeu, and is seeking to work harder for Los Blancos. In an exclusive interview with MARCA, the Welshman revealed that he is happy in Madrid, and that Manchester United came up with no concrete offer to prize him away.

“I am happy playing in Madrid, logically interest is interest, but if there has been nothing concrete, no offer, there is nothing to discuss,” said the former Tottenham Hotspur player.

Reports have been doing the rounds since quite some time that United will come in for Bale, who hasn’t quite lived up to the billing as expected at Madrid. But there hasn’t been any formal offer made by the English giants, as they continue to seek other players.

Bale was also quick to point out that being a British player, he is always linked with a return to his homeland, and that is nothing new.

“The truth is that I do not read any of that. Logically I am a British player and I am always linked with a return home. It happened with Beckham, with other Englishmen who came to Spain. Nothing new,” said the Welsh international.

Bale is still considered to be a vital cog in the Real set up, and reports claim manager Zinedine Zidane still expects to get the best out of him. When asked whether there has been any talks with the manager, he said there is time in the pre-season and he will see what happens.

“We have been here only a few days, we have a lot of time over the preseason, to prepare well and see what will happen,” said the pacey winger.

Real are currently in the United States of America for their pre-season tour. The Champions League winners will face Manchester United in the UEFA Super Cup on August 8 to kick-off their upcoming season.
