What’s the story?

Manchester City were eager to bring in a quality right-back during the summer transfer window, and they seemed to have their worries settled after they splashed huge money on Kyle Walker. However, that has not stopped them from aiming for more, as Sky Sports has reported that Danilo might be the next arrival coming in soon. The Real Madrid defender is assumed to have become Pep Guardiola’s number one priority at this point of time, and a £26.5m fee will be used to reel him in.

Should the deal take place?

The right-back is currently looking out for options as he sees himself surplus to Zidane’s plans for next season, and with time flying by, he might not want to waste too much of it speculating. The player wants to leave the Bernabeu to gain some game time under his belt, but heading to a club that just bought a player in a similar position might not be the ideal situation he would want to put himself into.

Possibility of it happening

Pep is clearly looking out for a player to be a backup to Walker when need be, and that is exactly what Danilo does not want in his career right now. The possibility of him coming to The Etihad is as low as 3/10.

 2. Thomas Muller To Liverpool

What’s the story?

Jurgen Klopp is a manager who loves to play attacking football with his teams, and his signings Mohamed Salah and Dominic Solanke have already proved that so far. However, the German wants to leave no stone unturned for next season, and is now ready to chase Thomas Muller as his next attacking investment. The Bayern Munich player has come up as Klopp’s surprising target, and Bild have reported that he wants the Kop to beat Chelsea and Arsenal in order to get the deal done as soon as possible.

Should the deal take place?

The German international has had a tough life under Carlo Ancelotti at Munich so far. That bond saw him play 800 lesser minutes in the Bundesliga as compared to what he played in the season before that. The player was often chosen as the backup option to Robert Lewandowski, and given the addition of James Rodriguez, his future at the club is further in doubt than it ever was. Juventus, Arsenal, Chelsea, and Liverpool are all in the race, and ideally, Jurgen Klopp is the character that matches Muller’s personality the most. Happy days, Liverpool fans?

Possibility of it happening

The chances of Muller coming to Liverpool are as low as 2/10.

3. Karim Benzema To Arsenal

What’s the story?

Arsenal fans have been blessed by the signing of Alexandre Lacazette this summer, and things could just be getting better. Sanchez has been rumoured to leave the club this window, and it looks like Wenger is preparing for life without the Chilean. Spanish outlet Don Balon has come up with news stating that French striker Karim Benzema could arrive at the Emirates to replace the number 7 and form a strike partnership with his fellow countryman.

Should the deal take place?

The boss at the London club has made it clear time and again that Alexis Sanchez will not be heading out of the exit door this summer. However, if the unthinkable does happen, Benzema is a more than able replacement to fill in his shoes, with an agenda to start banging in goals that will win titles. The player has been admired by Arsene in the seasons gone by, and could finally be united with a boss who is also from the same country.

Possibility of it happening

The chances of Benzema coming to Arsenal seem low at this point, with them being placed at 4/10.

4. Aymeric Laporte To Barcelona

What’s the story?

The defender has grown in stature at Athletic Bilbao over the past few seasons, which has turned him into a potential target for the big boys of Europe. Amongst Real Madrid and Manchester City being two of many interested, Don Balon reports that the player prefers a move to the Camp Nou for one simple reason which is as good as any: To play in the same team as Lionel Messi.

Should the deal take place?

Ernesto Valverde is the new manager at Barcelona, and his presence could help influence the player to come to the club, as he managed Bilbao from 2013 to 2017. The Catalan side has had a slow transfer window so far, and would love to speed things up by signing Laporte as soon as possible.

Possibility of it happening

The possibility of him coming to the Camp Nou is currently 7/10.
