Jose Mourinho Warns Clubs Demanding Inflated Fees For Players

Jose Mourinho has asked the football clubs to fall in line and not pay hefty fees for average players because it affects the market.
Manchester United have, so far, struggled to agree transfer fees for their targets like Eric Dier and Ivan Perisic. The Red Devils have been in constant talks with Tottenham and Inter Milan for the aforementioned players, yet there is no sign of a possible agreement in the offing.
Fed up with the high asking price slapped by clubs, Jose Mourinho has lashed on the trend of paying massive fees for average players.
Talking to the press in USA, where his squad is undergoing its pre-season, Mourinho said: “The transfer fees don’t surprise me, really. I keep saying there is big economic power at every club. It allows clubs to say ‘no’ to say ‘pay what I want or you don’t get it.”
The Manchester United boss then took a dig at the mega money signing of Kyle Walker by arch-rivals Manchester City.

“I can imagine City would like to have paid £25m for Kyle, but they were told ‘this is the price’. The option is to pay or not. I’m used to clubs paying big amounts for big players. Now everybody pays big amounts for good players,” said the Portuguese.
Mourinho also confirmed that he is still looking for one or two players to strengthen his squad before the season gets underway. The former Chelsea boss had sought a total of four signing during this transfer window, out of which the Reds have signed Victor Lindelof and Romelu Lukaku already.
When asked about transfer activity in coming days, Mourinho replied: “Everybody knows because I told I would like four players and I’m ready to go from four to three because the market is difficult.
“Some clubs think the market is different from others. We’re not a club that is ready to pay what the clubs want us to pay, so I’m ready to go from four to three.”
