Manchester United are on the lookout for a reliable right-back this summer, and Paul Pogba believes that PSG’s Serge Aurier would fit the bill perfectly, according to Goal.

In fact, the 24-year old star midfielder is putting a lot of pressure on the Red Devils’ administration to sign the Paris Saint Germain defender.

PSG recently announced the signing of Brazilian right-back Dani Alves, and the Ivory Coast international believes that this could limit his game time drastically. Aurier has since expressed his desire leave the Parisian club before the start of the 2017-18 season.

Manchester United are currently in the market in search of a quality right-back, after Matteo Darmian failed to consistently impress upon his arrival from Torino in the summer of 2015.

Furthermore, Ashley Young, who has been deployed as a full-back on more than one occasion, also looks set to make a switch to Stoke City, and with Antonio Valencia’s form on a surging decline, making a move for Aurier makes perfect sense for the Premier League giants.

Meanwhile, Paul Pogba, who is a close friend of the PSG defender, is pushing the United hierarchy to complete a switch for the 24-year-old. Aurier made 21 Ligue 1 starts under manager Unai Emery last season, and impressed in most of them.

The Ivory Coast international has been left out of PSG’s squad, which is currently in the US for pre-season, purely due to transfer-related reasons, as confirmed by club manager Unai Emery.

“He told me that he wants to leave and he preferred staying in Paris to prepare for his departure,’’ Emery told L’Equipe.

The possibility of this particular transfer going through seems highly likely. However, United should keep in mind that not all of their previous signings for the spot have bombed, and Serge Aurier might be a dependable right-back, but is not someone who can set the field on fire.
