Top Transfer Rumours Of The Day: Kolarov, Rafinha, Sakho, And More

1. Aleksandar Kolarov To Roma

What’s the story?

After spending 7 years as a player for Manchester City, left-back Aleksandar Kolarov looks all set to say goodbye to English football. The veteran has been on the lookout for a club, and according to reports mentioned in Sky Sports, Roma have come up as a potential and most likely destination, as a deal is assumed to have been agreed. The player has won 5 titles with City in his time in Manchester, including two Premier League crowns, and could use this winning mentality to guide the Serie A club to success, as they are still coping with their loss of Francesco Totti.

Should the deal take place?

The Italian club is offering £5.8 million for the left-footed full-back, and Pep Guardiola could use this money for further transfer purchases. The 31-year-old had to settle for little game time under the new manager, and hence, a move to Stadio Olimpico could help him revive his ageing career.

Possibility of it happening

When asked about the situation, Guardiola said: “He spoke to me, with the club, but especially to me, and said he would like to leave, and I don’t like to live still with players that don’t want to stay.” Thus, the chances of him heading to Roma are currently a strong 9/10.

2. Rafinha To Arsenal

What’s the story?

As Barcelona grow eager to sign Hector Bellerin from Arsenal this summer, Marca has reported that the Spanish club has an idea to fasten the deal. The Catalans are ready to offer Rafinha to the London club, and that seems to have delighted the player, who loves Arsene Wenger’s style of football.

Should the deal take place?

The Brazilian is keen to be a part of the 2018 World Cup, and believes that Wenger will be providing him with ample game time to allow him to prove his worth. The defender has been a part of Barca since 2010, but has managed only 73 appearances so far. He is now ready for a challenge elsewhere, and what better than a team ready to bring itself back to the top?

Possibility of it happening

Arsenal are unlikely to sell Bellerin to Barcelona, and hence, the possibility of Rafinha coming to the Emirates is currently 3/10.

3. Mamadou Sakho To Sevilla

What’s the story?

Everyone is well aware of the fact that Mamadou Sakho and Jurgen Klopp share a bond that is far away from ideal. The player has faced an extreme downhill career under the German boss, and spent last season defending for Crystal Palace on loan. This unrest has brought about interest from other clubs in the player’s services, and according to Sky Sports, Sevilla are the latest to join the race.

Should the deal take place?

Sakho was not a part of Liverpool’s plans at all last season, and is surely not in them for the campaign that is about to begin. The defender was bought for £18 million in 2013, and his time as a Kopite is almost at its complete end. He rejected a loan move to Stoke City earlier this summer as he wants to exit the Merseyside club on a permanent basis. A move to a different league will help him focus on his career much better and face new challenges.

Possibility of it happening

The Reds want £20 million for the centre-back, and it is only a matter of time before they sell him off and look forward to new signings. The chances of him heading to Sevilla are currently 8/10.

4. Paulo Dybala To Barcelona

What’s the story?

As Neymar comes closer to a ground breaking shock move to PSG, rumours from Mundo Deportivo have it that the club is looking to replace the outgoing Brazilian with an Argentine who goes by the name of Paulo Dybala.

Should the deal take place?

Barcelona have had a frustrating summer so far, with deals for Aubameyang, Dembele, and Verratti not coming through. The management will look to put that behind them and bring in a player that guided Juventus to Serie A glory last season, with 19 goals in 47 appearances to his name. Neymar is a player deemed to win the Ballon D’Or in the future, and what better replacement than a player in the exact same situation?

Possibility of it happening

The possibility of Dybala coming to Barcelona is currently 4/10.
